I just finished Nodame Cantabile.....

...and I looooooooooooooooooooooved it! ^__________________________^ <333333333333

Words cannot express how much I loved it. *squeeeee* Really, it's one of those rare series that make me honest-to-god laugh out loud. :DDD

And the music... oh god, the music. It was so beautiful. T_T There were mostly orchestral pieces at first, but in the latter episodes there was a piano competition! <3 And Nodame played a Mozart sonata I've played too! ^_^ It's always so thrilling to listen to a piece you know. She also played a Brahms' Paganini Variations (my mom used to play all the time). And her Liszt! O.O So fast!

But there were really a lot of well known pieces in the series. There was Appassionata and Pathetique and at one point Chiaki played a Rachmaninoff concerto *squeee* and there was even a bit of Carmen Fantasy, but the best part was...

RHAPSODY IN BLUE. BY GERSHWIN.

Oh, how I love this. ^_________^ I love it I love it I love it. I actually got goosebumbs when I heard it.

Man, watching this anime really made me regret giving up the piano this year. >.< But I guess it couldn't be helped. Still, I'll always be grateful to my teachers for showing me how to trully appreciate classical music. Things like this stay with you for the rest of your life.

Anyway, I should probably turn off the computer now. *is kinda woozy after watching 20 episodes in a row*

I finally started watching an anime I've been meaning to see for a long time now, Nodame Cantabile. I first read a couple of manga chapters, and it sounded really interesting. But I thought this had to be one of those rare cases where the anime is better than the manga, since it was about classical music, and it really loses its charm if you can't actually listen to the music. And besides, I'm a huge classical music geek, and I used to play the piano till last year. I couldn't exactly resist.

So I watched the first episode just now....

I was feeling kinda bored yesterday, so I thought I'd watch some Shippuuden episodes, since I had them in my computer and all. The bad thing is, the anime SUCKS. No, really. I don't know if it's just the shippuuden part, or if it's always been like this and I somehow never noticed, but it sucks. They just drag things oooooon and ooooon and oooooon, and battles consist of a few seconds of action, and a few decades of sitting around staring at each other. They suck the fun out of things.

So I thought I'd give the manga a try. Bear in mind that I refused to read the manga for a long time, for various completely stupid reasons. I have seen the error in my ways. I have repented. I read the last 120 chapters in one go. :D (It kinda took me all night, but it was worth it) So, this is a little late in coming, but bear with me.

-OMG, the Team 10 story arc. T_T It was... it was amazing. Even though I knew Asuma would die, I still cried. T_T Poooor Shikamaru. T_T

...Who then proceeded to KICK. SOME. SERIOUS. ASS. Oh, he was so, so, so very awesome. :DDD I always knew he was awesome, but he's even more fucking awesome than I had thought, and that really says something. I was fangirling him the whole time! ^____^

It's official: Shikamaru is THE GOD OF ALL THINGS BADASS and anyone who disagrees is either delusional or fucking jealous.

(And Ino, of course, just stood there. Again. Dammnit, Kishimoto, she's a cool character! Use her! At least have her throw a kunai or something. Anything! )

-I really really liked the chakra explanation. Give us more details! I love this universe, and while it's fun to speculate about the nature and fundamendal rules and all that fun stuff, it's even better to see them explained in canon. Although I wish Kakashi had explained more about the way clan jutsus work. That was the most interesting part, and he left us hanging! At least we know that Shikamaru has shadow chakra. Or something like that. XP

-The instant I saw Karin, I immediately decided that she's HOT HOT HOT. :D I really, really like her. She wears glasses! And hot shorts! And she has red hair! She looks so badass. Although I wish she didn't have a crush on Sasuke. >_< Come on girl, you can do better than that!! I personally really love the way she and Suigetsu interact. Ooo, the chemistry! The conflict! I hope they end up having hatesex. >:D

-Let me just say that I was exremely disappointed with how Kabuto ended up. D: You know, he was my most favorite villain, ever. He scared me more than Orochimaru ever did, and he was just so fascinating. He could have been the one pulling the strings for all we know. I actually thought he knew Sasuke was going to kill Orochimaru, and that he left him alone on purpose. (It was that panel with him glancing to the side that fooled me.) With Orochimaru out of the way, he could take over Sound, and set his evil and meticulously thought plans to work.

He was the last character I thought would turn out crazy. :/ I mean come on, he was the cool, evil scientist who experimented on corpses for curiosity's sake and who was intelligent as hell. What's this crap about finding his identity? Wtf? He felt like those half-assed villains they make for the anime fillers. (I swear to god, if Naruto somehow manages to convert Kabuto to the Side of Light I'll puke.)

-I loved the Jiraya arc. The backstory was great. (Young!Jiraya was hot!) But how on earth did he manage to stay in Rain for three fucking years? He didn't even tell the Hokage. He should had been considered a missing nin or something. "Oh yeah, I thought I'd take a vacation and stay out of the country for three years, even though my country still needs me and it's my duty to serve the Hokage and I'm sure you guys missed a ot of money from all the missions I could have taken. But oh well, no hard feelings, right?"

Anyway, the fight was awesome. (Wtf was with the little frogs? XD) Kishi kinda strayed into HP territory, what with the CHILD OF DESTINY(TM) and THE PROPHECY(TM) but whatever. At least Jiraya finally kicked some ass.

And even though I knew he'd die, I still cried. T_T Again. What the hell is wrong with this manga? I never cry! ~~Okay, fine,that's a lie.~~ I'm going to blame this to sleep deprivation (it was 3 am when I read that)

- And then, of course, the Uchiha story arc. Sure, it took long, but considering how this has been Sasuke's goal since the beginning of the series, he couldn't exactly kill him in one chapter.

....Not that I understood much of what was happening:

Sasuke: My dream, I will make it a reality.

Itachi: No, my dream, I will make it a reality

Both: *fight fight fight*

Me: What, he beat Itachi? It was that easy?

Kishimoto: Not, it was genjutsu. Ha ha, fooled you!

Itachi: This illusion you saw, I will make it a reality.

Sasuke: No, this illusion you saw, I will make it a reality.

Both: *fight fight fight*

Itachi: *pokes Sasuke's eye out*

Me: O_O His eye! O_O He took his fucking eye!

Kishimoto: Nah, foooled you again! Man, you're so easy!

Me: -_- Yeah, that's not getting old or anything.

Both: *fight fight fight FOR REAL this time*

Me: Ooooo, fireballs.

Zetsu: * provides commentary for those of us at home who don't know who's winning*

Sasuke: Yes! I kiiled him! Yes! I'm the best! Whooohooooo!

Itachi: Actually, I'm still alive.

Sasuke: Crap.

Itachi: Susanoo, I choose you!

Sasuke: Orochimaru, I choose you!

Orochimaru: BWAHAHA! I have returned! Fear my evilness, petty minions, for I'll-

Orochimaru: *gets stabbed*

Sasuke: Crap

Both: *fight fight fight some more*

Zombie!Itachi: ~~Braaaaaaaaains~~ Eeeeeeeeeeyes.........

Itachi: *pokes* *dies*

Sasuke: *takes his sweet time falling to the ground*

Me: End of the story arc, yay! ^^

See, it's more fun if you read it like that. :P

-I spent the next few chapters going "O_o wtf?" Tobi is Madara? Whut? I feel so betrayed. T_T I liked Tobi, dammnit! He was funny! I was convinced he was Obito (and really, it would have made more sense than this.) And now he somehow got a complete personality reversal?! Or was the dorkiness just a cover? (No, I refuse to believe that.) And anyway, didn't Itachi say that Madara founded the Akatsuki after leaving Konoha? But Tobi was a new member! And what about the Leader?Or was Itachi lying? But why would he lie? And why did Kisame call him Mizukage? Or was that just a name? @_@ This doesn't make sense!

My theory is that Tobi did die in the explosion, and Madara took the opportunity to claim his body.... or something. Whatever. I don't care! >_<

Although the backstory was nice. Really interesting. I like Shodaime. ^^

And the thing about Itachi... I wasn't too surprised, cause I had already read a lot of fics that toyed with the idea. Kudos for the authors that guessed right! Though I liked the fics where he was a crazy sociopathic little anbu killer better. >_>

-Oh, and in the very last chapter.... there was a Shika fangirl!! O_O OMG! Shika fangirl! XD Take that, Sasuke!

This left me with mixed feelings though: One the one hand, Shika fangirl! God knows Shikamaru deserves a gazillion foaming fangirls and twenty fanclubs and all that jazz. But on the other hand, what if it threatens ShikaTema? (The fangirl has a name and all) But no, that could never happen. Right? I mean, THE UNIVERSE ships ShikaTema. What can one Kishimoto do against THE UNIVERSE? It will probably just make Temari go into uber!possesive mode and go all "Hey, back off, bitch" and then just shove Shika into the nearest surface and kiss him senseless. >:D In front of everyone. Not that he'll mind or anything. XD

Long entry O.o Anyways, now that I caught up, I'll rpobably keep reading the chapters as they come, instead of hoarding them up like this. Maybe I'll buy the volumes with the Team 10 arc, if they ever get here. (We're still in volume 22 here. >_<)

Finally, finally, finally watched the last two Avatar episodes. :D I missed Avatar so very very much! ^^ I can't believe the series is gonna end so soon.

ZUKO!!!!!!! AND SOKKA!!!!!!! TOGETHER!!!!! XD They're such total dorks! XD

Sokka: My first girlfriend turned into the moon.
Zuko: ...That's rough, buddy.

And also, SUKI!!! <3 I love her so much. She looks so pretty without the Kyoshi warriors costume! :D And there was a kiss! Out of all the Sokka pairings, Sokka/Suki is my favorite. ^^ I was so glad they didn't just forget about her.

Sokka: Oh, good. You guys have met.
Suki: Actually, we met a long time ago.
Zuko: We did?
Suki: Yeah... you kinda burned down my village.
Zuko: Oh. Sorry about that. Nice to see you again!

...Oh, Zuko. XDDDD

And then the Maiko scene. Poor Mai. ;_; She was actually emotional, which shows how much upset she is. Of course, that doesn't stop her from being her awesome sarcastic self.

Zuko: How did you know I was here?
Mai: Because I know you so well.
Zuko: But, how…
Mai: The warden’s my uncle, you idiot.

;_; I really felt for Mai in that scene. I love her now even more than I did.

And then there's Hakoda. I gotta ask: am I the only one who thinks Hakoda is totally hot? XD I bet that's where his kids got their good looks from.

I liked part 2 better, mainly because there were all these AWESOME battle scenes. :DDDD I live for those scenes.

Hakoda: It's not over yet. We need to get the Warden.
Suki: Leave it to me. >:D
Suki: *UTTERLY AND TOTALLY KICKS EVERYONE'S BUTT AND IS GENERALLY BEING AN AMAZING AND AWESOME AND TOTALLY HOT GODDESS OF BADASS*

And then the oh-so cool fight on the roof of the wagon. @_@ Zuko and Sokka, working together! That was so cool. And they were holding their ground against Azula! (Btw, rocketboots? The fuck? XD I t felt like a videogame.)

And then Mai comes to the rescue, kicking ass like a ninja... and actually goes against Azula! I always knew she'd betray her, but I was excpecting it to happen in the finalle. Actually, what really surprised me was Ty Lee's betrayal. I thought she'd be too scared of Azula to do it. She's got guts!

I can't wait for the next episode... although I'm really sad the series is coming to an end. T_T

Anyway, other than that, I also watched the Naruto Shippuuden Movie. It was... okay, I guess. Like every other Naruto movie. It had four multicoloured weird villains, and a Big Bad Boss, and cool fights, and a completely confusing and wtf inducing plot. The only thing that made this movie TOTALLY worth it was the scene with Shika and Temari fighting together! ^___^ Not that it made any sense (no one ever mentioned Suna, and I don't think Shikamaru was supposed to be there) but it was so cool! I love it when they give us all these subtle-but-not-really hints. ^__^ I think it's obvious, guys: THE UNIVERSE SHIPS SHIKATEMA!!! >:D

Now that I've got all the boring things out of the way, it's time to talk about the fun stuff! ^^ (Namely what I did in between all the crazy study sessions.)

The first thing I did was buy MANGA. Lots and lots of MANGA. :D :D It's thanks to those lovely babies that I managed to maintain a tentative grip on my sanity during those troubled times.

And I believe I can now officially announce that my favorite manga of all times is Full Metal Alchemist. Mere words cannot describe how much I love that series. :D I love the art and I love the story and I most definitely love every single character. I bought all the volumes I could find (up to volume sixteen, sadly) and I read them again and again and again ~~and again~~. I practically know everything by heart! :D

I also bought some Naruto ones, mainly all the ones that contained Shikamaru, Temari, or the both of them. :P I was surprised to find the first two volumnes of Shippuuden, which I of course bought. :D

...And last but not least, I bought some Fruits Basket ones. I thought it'd be fun to actually try another fandom, and I picked it in random. BUT, I really kinda like it, so I guess I made a good choice. ^^ I wanted to check the anime too but it appears to be licenced. >_< Damn.

Of course, it goes without saying that I have spent the entirety of my money. T_T I am now completely and utterly broke. But you know what? I REGRET NOTHING!!! >:O

Incidentally, the owner of that comic store -who's a really nice guy, by the way- literally brightens every time he sees me. XD

Anyway, even though rereading FMA ad nauseum had become my favorite pastime, I couldn't help but notice that a) my brother owned a PSP and b) said PSP was conviniently not being used by my brother at the time. Now, I couldn't exactly let that godsent opportunity go to waste, could I? >:D At first, I only played Puzzle Bubble and Lumines... but on one fateful day (my birthday) I went to the mall, and I saw this nifty little PSP game called Final Fantasy Tactics.

Now, the little angel on my right shoulder quite sternly informed me that buying a videogame during exam season is a very, very bad idea. Possibly the worst idea I could ever come up with, barring that time when I was five and decided it would be cool to try and fix the VCR with a fork.

But my favorite little devil argued that, well, it wouldn't be that bad if I actually played a little every day like a mature and responsible adult. And anyway, who said I was going to open it? I could just buy it now, since it was my birthday, and revel in the knowledge that it was mine while patiently waiting for the exams to be over so I could play it. Hell, who knows what could happen in two months? It could go out of stock! Better buy it now before something terrible happens.

...Needless to say, not only did I buy it, but I lasted a whole of an hour before I caved in and opened it.

Yes, I am weak. I also find it disturbingly easy to lie to myself.

I actually did manage to limit myself to an hour of playtime the first couple of days, but I quickly and most inevitably got hooked. The fact that the story included back-stabbing politicians, a corrupt head of church, and an oh-so alluring plot didn't help any. The addictive gameplay only worsened the situation.

I soon realized that the only way to get rid of my obsession was to just get it out of my system and finish the game. The sooner I saw how the story ended, the sooner I could go bact to ~~reading FMA~~ studying. So I finished the game in 32 hours.

No, wait, let me rephrase that.

I finished the game in 32 consecutive hours.

...That's right. I started on a Saturday morning and finished on Sunday night, with only a few hours of sleep. Funny how the utter stupidness of my actions registers on my brain only after I'm done with them. >_>;; (In case you were wondering, my parents were away for the weekend.)

It actually worked though. I was able to completely focus on biology for the next days. And after two weeks, when I started my second playthrough, I was actually able to keep a tight schedule on my playtime, which must have been a first for me.

....Aaaaand that's pretty much the end of this entry. When I wasn't busy staring blankly at a textbook, a manga, or a PSP screen, I amused myself by listening to the radio and watching House reruns. :D

Soooo.......

I was planning on writing a big List Of Totally Cool And Awesome Things That Happened To Me In The Last Two Months, but as it turns out, I don't really have that much to talk about. Pathetic, huh? X_x But in my defence, I spent half that time taking the exams and the other half studying.

Well, mostly studying. :P

Actually, I would just study like a possessed zombie for days, hardly eating or sleeping, till I finished that particular subject. And then I'd spend the next few days doing nothing more than staring at the ceiling and listening to my MP3 while I waited for my brain to cool down. God forbid I actually do something like a normal human being. Hell no. (I always knew I got ridiculously obsessed over things like books and videogames, never stopping unless I finished them, but I never thought that would also apply to physics. O_o My brain is weird.)

Anyway, I think I did a moderate job. Hopefully. The only good thing that came out of this is that I inexplicably fell in love with organic chemistry. You know, I hated organic chem. Despised it. Thought it was too hard. But one day I sat down on my butt, learned all the reactions by heart, and then everything starting making perfect sense! :D Figuring out the nature of substances A to Z on a complex grid of chemical reactions is as fun as solving a challenging sudoku puzzle! I love it! :D (Althought to be fair, it's a hell of a lot easier than sudoku.)

And did the national exam have an insanely complicated grid that would make most students piss their pants, making me one of the few that'd actually solve it and thus giving me an advantage over the rest? NO, NO IT DID NOT. Damn it!!

Oh well. I did good anyway. In fact, I'm actually expecting a perfect score. ^_^ Well, almost perfect. Everyone knows that perfect scores are just an urban legend. The teachers are actually laughing behind our backs at our naivety.

As for my other favorite subject, biology, I think I did pretty good. No perfect score there, cause of my tremendously bad luck. You know, I know pretty much the entire textbook by heart. Everything. Ask me anything, and I'll recite it word for word. And they ask the ONE question I didn't know! What are the chances?? >_< And you know why I didn't know it? Because it was a damn stupid fucking question to begin with. Something about the goals of the Human Genome Project. The book is so vague about it ("to better understand to the possibilities of evolution reagrding the human organism" blah blah crap blah blah) our teacher actually skipped that part entirely. Excuse me for paying more attention to things that are actually important, like, oh I don't know, Mendelian inheritance and genetic mutations.

Why yes, I am still bitter. >:(

Anyway, moving on. Physics. Another reversal of my expectations, but I'm definitely not complaining this time. :D I spent seven whole days (seven!!) solving literally every exercise in the book during spring break, expecting something ridiculously complex, and the exam was actually pretty damn easy and simple. I was done in an hour. Considering how difficult a physics ploblem can be if the teacher's nutty enough ( "A siren is attached to a spring that's glued to a pulley that's strapped to the ceiling. If the spring exhibits a simple harmonic motion, the siren induces Doppler's effect, and the minimum distance between the siren and a scientist that stands on the ground is 2 meters, find out the name of the scientist.") well, you can't blame me for being paranoid. :P

Math, I'm pretty sure I flunked. Exactly what I expected. If I actually get over 50%, I'll consider myself lucky. Although on the bright side, the exam was ridiculously fucking difficult (a lot of girls actually started crying) which means everyone else did as bad as I did, which means the average grade is lower than last year, which is always a good thing. >:D

The last subject that's examined on a national level is Language Studies. (Basically, they just give a text, and you have to write the summary, some random linguistic exercises, and then write your very own essay of 500 words that may or may not be related to the given text.) I honestly don't know how I did. For the essay I had to resort to the most ancient technique known to man, the Art Of Bullshiting. Also known as the Art Of Pulling Crap Out Of Your Ass And Making It Sound Plausible. Politicians are particularly good at this. BUT I'm pretty confident about my summary. :D My teacher always said I'm good at it. And everyone else thought it was difficult, so more yay for me. ^^

....And that pretty much covers the whole 'national exams' topic. Okay, that turned out a lot bigger than what I had originally planned >_> Geez, I wanted to talk about the cool stuff, not school. XP I guess I'll do that on the next post.

Staying up all night on a school day to read fanfics?

Yeah. NOT A GOOD IDEA.

I mean, really, why do I do these stupid things? I went to bed at 5 a.m. and woke up at 7:30. Two hours and a half of sleep. And our first lesson was history. I was nodding off to sleep every five seconds. At one moment I actually started awake (did I mention that I sit at at a desk right at the front of the classroom?) and the teacher gave me a weird look, or at least I think he did. I didn't even have the energy to raise my head. (My friend accurately commented that I looked like a dead rag doll.)

At least I started being normal again at around ten, after I've eaten something. And since I spent the first hours half asleep, time passed kinda quick. But still. Got a headache and all.

And the reason for all this? My inability to stop reading once I find a great story.

Which was a very, very good story. It was a Naruto epic fic called Garden of Sanctuary (It was actually the sequel that kept me up, seeing as that one is a oneshot.) If you haven't read it yet, I definitely, definitely, definitely recommend it. It's fucking amazing. The author is just plain awesome. He has the ability to just keep you glued to the screen. I don't want to talk much about the story cause I'll spoil it, but man. It's kinda dark, and gives you the feeling that something is quite missing, that there is some secret, something going on behind the scenes, and mercilessly teases you with little tidbits of information that get you all excited and staring in awe at the screen, cause it surely, surely can't possibly be what you imagine it is, can it?

Really, you can't blame for not being able to stop reading. There was no way I could help it. I just had to know.

(And the author has written yet another delicious sequel, which I can't read cause I have to study phisics all day tomorrow. Ah, life, why are you so cruuuuuuuel??? ;_; I still don't know exactly what the secret is.)

Anyway, going to sleep now. (It's 1 a.m. here. I clearly never learn.)

Went to the dentist today. Turns out we're gonna do the vicious-wisdom-teeth-pulling thing during the Easter holidays. *rolls eyes* I got worked up over nothing.

...BUT, he checked my teeth anyway, since I was there and all, and turns out I needed two dental fillings.

Oh, ha ha. Funny stuff.

And let me just say that, apparently, my very first filling is an excellent time to realise yet another aspect of my character:

I FUCKING HATE ANESTHESIA.

>_< Urgh. I just hate it. Hate how abnormal it feels, hate how I'm not aware of what's happening, and most of all, hate the damn numbness. It's been over an hour and my jaw is still numb.

And the thing is, the doctor said that since the fillings were going to be really small, we could either go without the anesthesia and do it later in case I felt any pain, or do it from the beginning just to be on the safe side. And I was all "Well, I like being safe. Bring on the needle!" Yeah, WRONG CHOICE, self.

(And I know for a fact that I could have handled the pain without it, cause the doctor actually started before he realised we agreed on anesthesia, and you know what? It was fine. I didn't mind the pain at all. )

Anyway, gotta look for the silver lining in this whole situation: at least now I know how uncomfortable anesthesia is, so when we do extract my molars.....um, I'd already know that anesthesia is pretty damn uncomfortable.

Well, I feel optimistic already. ~~Not.~~ Positive thinking sure helps.

These last few days kinda sucked. >_< I don't know why, but I've had trouble sleeping lately, which made me go into uber bitchy mode and snap at every little thing. Damn nerves.

And as a result, the few hours I do manage to get some sleep are enhanced by really really weird dreams:

First I saw that our class was going on a field trip to Rome, and we were on a plane, and the pilot started to do some pretty impressive manoeuvers (and of course I got airsick, cause my brain sucks like that) and then we hit a fucking helicopter and the plane got on fire and we started to fall and we, like, destroyed every damn building in the area, yet somehow we landed safely.

And then the teacher was all "Oh, it's okay kids. Just move along. We'll worry about the lawsuits later."

And last night I saw a girl I went to primary school with whom I haven't seen in years. And she apparently got blind somehow during those years. O_o ...Yeah. Anyway, we were on a bus (what is it with me and vehicles?) and she was with some random guy who was, I dunno, her seeing-boy-toy or something like that, and we were talking. And I suddenly decided to kiss her on the cheek, and I did, which made her blush and smile and I was all "Awwww... ^_^" but then I realised she thought the boy toy did it and I got all disappointed and angry.

So I kicked him in the shins. >_>;;

...I mean, really, brain. What the fuck?

Aaaaanyway, after that redundant intro that probably has you slowly backing away from the computer, I've come to the main point of my post:

Watched Juno yesterday.

To be honest, I wasn't excepting to like it. I thought it'd be one of those pro-life dramas with a little angst to the side.

Turns out it wasn't.

Turns out I loved it.

:D

I mean, they handled it so well! I was impressed. And the characters! Oh, I loved every one of them. Ellen Page was fucking amazing. As were the dialogues. Some of the slang made me laugh out loud. XP

In the end, it was such a sweet, funny movie. You know, one that makes you smile and feel juuuust a tad more optimistic.

But the thing I absolutely loved more than everything was that song they sang at the end. Awwwwwww..... ^^ It was so cute! ^^ *squee*

Btw, the soundtrack is eating away my soul. It goes straight to my Best Movie Soundtracks Ever list.
